Easy Potato Chowder Recipe

Hi everyone!

Not only are we in soup time of the year, we are in busy holiday time of the year. So throwing ingredients into a crock pot and letting them just cook and not having to worry about it until it is ready to serve is a blessing .

Easy potato chowder is a simple but, hardy meal to fix on a busy chilly day. Adding corn to the mix gives it a nice slight sweetness to the chowder.

Using a bag of frozen shredded hashbrowns really thickens this chowder up. It is more of a meal than just a soup.

Easy potato corn chowder recipe. Add everything into a crock pot and let cook. Simple and quick. A warm hardy Fall Soup.

1 bag (16 ounces) frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed (4 cups)
1 can whole kernel corn, undrained
1 can cream-style corn
1 can  evaporated milk
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of sour cream
1 teaspoon of onion powder
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (or chopped ham, smoked sausage)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
pepper to taste

  • In crockpot, mix all ingredients.
  • Cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours (or High heat setting 3 to 4 hours).

  • I like to serve with shredded cheddar on top.

    1. I love my potato soup. Took me years to perfect the recipe after tasting a great potato soup on a trip many years ago. I've never had a chowder, so this sounds interesting to me. Loving that I can make it in the crockpot, too! I'm gonna give it a try as soon as we get some cool weather here in still-warm South Central Texas. Thanks so much for sharing, and please share more !

    2. This looks so good. I'm going to save this recipe and make it soon!

    3. That sounds delicious! I will be sure to give it a try. I looooove soup!
