Wow, it's October already! From now until the first of the New Year time seems to just vanish!
Do you ever feel like you move at a snails pace yet the rest of the world is moving along just fine? That's how I have been feeling lately.
As a blogger I should be totally immersed into Christmas right now. All Halloween, Autumn and Thanksgiving posts should be finished and scheduled. Not me. I decided not to do any Halloween decorating this year. Last year I had fun creating some different Halloween decor items but, this year not so much. And as far as fall goes, I am adding a little here and there which I plan to share soon.
I think spending more time on the road with Troy has put me behind on a lot of things. But, to be honest I would rather go out on the road with my husband and create fun new memories. So, that is what I am doing.
A few things to get you caught up.
First, I have completely finished decluttering and organizing my bedroom yet. I have a few small pockets of areas to get at. However, everything that I have done has remained just as I set out to have it look. I am very proud of that. It's kind of like losing weight. I am going at it slowly but, more importantly the weight that I have lost is staying off!
I have also gathered all my summer purses and shoes and have them stored for the year. It's still not very cold so, a lot of summer clothes are not packed up yet. I have washed and freshened up Fall jackets and a little bit cooler weather clothes. I have my winter coats in a bag to take to the dry cleaners to be clean for the upcoming months.
Unfortunately, my big issue regarding not getting a lot done is pain. I have severe arthritis throughout my entire spine along with a few bulging discs and bones spurs. I have been living with these back issues for about 15 years now. But, I was prescribed Naproxen and took it everyday as a maintenance drug. And it kept the pain at bay. Now I have been removed from this drug due to possible kidney problems that may occur in the future. My kidney are fine. I went to a specialist a couple of months ago and made sure of that. I have tried different over the counter medicine that the kidney specialists recommended but, none have helped me. So, I have had serious back pain pretty much daily for the last 100 days or so. I have tried prescription pain killers and they dont do a thing for the arthritic pain. So, I went to the Dr.'s yesterday and told her I need some sort of treatment to help bring the pain level down. Even if it is bringing the pain down from a 10 to a 5 would help dramatically. So, now I have an appointment with a pain management specialist. And I have been doing lots of research for alternative pain relief. Hopefully I will find something soon.
Okay, enough of that. The last thing you want to hear about is Diann's aches and pains! Believe me, I don't even like to listen to myself talk about! LOL
So, not being able to do a lot of things that will add pain, I have been doing little things here and there. If I don't, I will go insane! Seriously, I am one of those people that can't just sit for any length of time. I get antsy too quickly.
A couple of months ago I went shopping with a girlfriend at Home goods. I love that store and have to REALLY use strong willpower in there! I also check out the clearance aisles. I found this fun set of numbered ceramic knobs.
I have a free standing cabinet in my dining room. The knobs are boring and one was a different type of knob. And I would think I need to pick up four new matching knobs and change the old ones out. But, I would forget about it when I was actually at a store that had knobs.
These white knobs were just cheapo ones to start with.
but the bottom one was just plain wood. I kept thinking I would paint it white but, that never happened.
Replacing these knobs was a super easy change.
For just a couple of dollars, it helped update the cabinet.
Now the cabinet makes me smile. Have you added or changed out some small little thing in your home lately that brings a smile to your face?
Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day!
