I'm Home! Birthday Dinner on the Road

Hi everyone!

We just got back home after being out on the road for 3 weeks. We had a fun time and got to go to different places we hadn't been to.

This may be some repeat pictures for those of you that follow me on facebook. Sorry about that!

This post is sharing the fun place we found on my birthday to stop and have dinner. I had been craving Missouri BBQ. But, every place we would see signs for, we couldn't get to in a semi truck. Troy got online in a couple of his trucker groups and asked for any ideas regarding us going to a bbq restaurant. 

Several drivers recommended Missouri Hicks Bar-B-Q restaurant . they told us that a few semi's can park there. So, that is where we went.

Isn't that cute? This is the order window from the kitchen.

All of the dining room tables had what looked to be antique black iron sewing machine bases.

And then the food! I think between Troy and I we ordered every smoked meat they had!

Then my free birthday dessert....blackberry cobbler! OMG this was soooo good!!

They have a wall of signed pictures of famous Country singers that have dropped by.

Back outside they have this outdoor dinner area.

These chairs were so cool! They were handmade/custom made with wood, branches and real leather.

The food was so good and the restaurant itself was a lot of fun.

I'm so glad someone suggested going here. It was a perfect birthday meal!

  1. We had a couple of experiences when we travel with our 31 FT trailer. We would pull into a parking area, and realize it was going to be a challenge to get out. I did a lot of praying as my hubby maneuvered the beast out of two very tight spots. Definitely don't want to do that again.

  3. That looks like a fun place to eat with delicious food. It's funny how different areas serve BBQ differently. I've never seen a green onion with it. I love all different kinds. Have you ever tried SC style with a mustard base or, my favorite, NC style with a vinegar base? I just made homemade BBQ last weekend for a family gathering.
