From Valentine's Day to St. Patrick's Day the Easy and Thrifty Way

Hi everyone!

I don't do a lot of expensive holiday decorating for smaller holidays like Valentines day or St. Patrick's day. But, it is fun to have just a little holiday color here and there.

My spending limit for these little holidays has always been $5.00. I use things around the house and then generally just had some fun or silly dollar store items.

Add a little fun and thrifty st patricks day decor to your home at thethriftygroove.com

I'm not talking elegant or magazine styled. I'm just having some fun in my home. That's it. And it just makes me smile.

So, this shelf needs to go from Valentine's Day to St. Patrick's Day.

See, I told ya, nothing fancy schmancy.

Just simple and sparkly.

I used two glass candlesticks I was given.

My large Italian rooster pitcher and a couple of gold votive holders.

A couple of dollars spent at the dollar store and that’s it. Like I said, nothing over the top, nothing very chic.

Just simple and fun. With everything else going on around here, that is just right for me!

Do you add a touch of St. Patrick's Day whimsy to your home?

Thank you for visiting. Have a wonderfully thrifty day!

  2. St. Patrick's Day a smaller holiday? Holy Shamrocks, not if you are Irish! :). And yes, I do decorate for it. I just don't like it being so close to Easter, have to rush down the Irish decos to put up the Easter!
Hope all is well with you!

  4. I am right there with you. Especially this year with Easter so close to St. Patrick's, I kept my St. Pat's decor pretty simple. I love the little glittery - glitzy touches you came up with and especially the budget!
