Hi everyone!
Welcome to Thrifty Things Friday #153!
As some of you may know my friend and Co-Host Linda is out of town taking care of her mother and helping to get her packed up and moved closer to Linda.
My thrifty find today is actually a freebie! I do love me some free stuff!
We have been busy getting a ton of herb plants planted at the greenhouse. The greenhouse is at the farm where we have some acreage for our DTL Herb business. We have also been helping the owner of the farm get her flowers planted. She has a huge flower nursery.
Some of the flower bulbs she grows for retail come packed in this stuff.
Natural shredded sisal.
Ummm, hello Basket filler….Spring vignette filler…..Bird nest making….
There are tons of things that I can use this for when doing different decorating or craft type things. I like to work it into wreaths even. And since this is an all natural product, it can go into composting or left for the little birds to build their “real nests” when I don’t want it any more.
I will probably tea dye some of this to create a deeper darker color. It can be dyed with just regular food coloring as well to make different colors of “grass”.
You just never know when a fun freebie will fall into your lap! In this case a LOT of freebie sisal!
Please remember to include a link back to this party on your blog post that you share here!
I had a lot of fun pinning your different thrifty ideas last week on the new Thrifty Things Friday Pinterest board. I only pin those posts that have a link back to The Thrifty Groove (TTF Party).
If you are not following TTG, I would love to invite you to do so via many different social networks! As you can see on my sidebar, I still have GFC. Also I can be followed via:
