After Dinner “Tea”

Hi everyone!

The other night after dinner, the Princess and Troy went outside to harvest herbs. I thought it would be a fun surprise for both of them to have an after dinner “tea”.

The Princess gets so excited when I let her use real teacups and be part of a tea.

I decided to use a set of china by Style House called Juliet.

It has a gray and green floral pattern and is discontinued.

Once the dishes and linens were removed from dinner, I placed this embroidered table square on the table. I have had it on there all week. It is one of my favorite pieces.

Nothing real fancy. I just reset the table for dessert and “tea”.

I’m using this teapot that has gray roses on it. Our “tea” is actually milk in the teapot to go along with our dessert.

The Princess was so excited when I called them in for dessert. You would have thought I was having the Queen for dessert. LOL She was just so amazed that Mama set the table 2 times and we were going to eat at both of them!

The simplest things can make such an impression on your family. It’s nice to do little things like this from time to time.

  3. I love the vintage table square. It reminds me of my grandmothers. I have some of their lovelies that I enjoy using, too. I'm already the Princess growing up and continuing the art of gracious entertaining...makes me very happy. Thanks for inviting us for a peak at your beautiful tea table. Cherry Kay

  15. Hi Diann,
so nice to read that your Princess appreciated the tablesetting. It never to early to show the kids, how nice it is to eat on a pretty table. I love, how you have set the table for dessert. Especially the chickens in the basket look so cute. Thank you for sharing this cozy table and for your sweet comment on my blog.

  16. It's lovely and I am not surprised that the Princess enjoys it. I have a little Japanese tea set ( just a pot and two cups ) and the grandkids LOVE having "tea". We just use water, we use goldfish crackers for sushi, and we usually have a candle. They think this is a 'treat' !: ) Actually the promise of tea afterwards is how I got my grandson to finish his dinner the other day! :)
