Thrifty Things Friday #70

Hi everyone!

happythumb

A couple of years ago I picked up two yellow wood chairs at a local thrift store. I was actually at the store to donate things. I went around back to the area to drop off larger items and there was a truck in front of me donating items as well. The last two thing he hauled off his truck were these two chairs. They were filthy but, I instantly knew I wanted them!

As soon as the guy pulled away, I raced up to the owner and said I wanted to buy the two chairs. She said that she hadn’t even inventoried or cleaned them yet. I said I would take them as is and just load them into my truck once I got all of my donation stuff out of there. I asked what she wanted for the two. After a little thinking on her part, she sold the two for $12.00. Woohoo!

I have had them in front of my flower bed ever since and I love them. I actually sit in these chairs more often then the patio furniture. The little wire table/stand between the chairs was a curbside freebie a couple of years ago. I had spray painted it white and now the old rusty look is showing through which is fine by me.

I recently found these heavy twill like fabric pillow shams at a thrift store for $1.50 (for the pair) and thought they would look perfect on these chairs.

They have a nice touch of yellow in them to match the chairs.

They have a pretty flower garden feel and I like the way they look next to my flower bed.

  6. Great find on the chairs Diann. $12 was an awesome price. At our local thrift if you see anything at the drop off they will not sale it to you. You have to wait until it's in the store. Which they say can be up to two weeks. Fat chance you'll luck out and be there when it comes in. The pillow shams worked perfect. Some fun features. Love the brown transferware and the pink Pyrex!
    Hugs,
    Jann
