Mend them the best we can.

When the princess saw the broken teacup she was so sad. She made me some flowers to make me smile!

Now it sits next to her cloche in her bedroom.

  7. Very sweet post. I had a beautiful teacup that was broken when I received it in the mail. I painstakingly glued it back together, and it now sits in my china hutch as a decoration. It was too lovely to throw away.

  10. Your pretty pink cake saver is absolutely stunning. I love it. Looks like a couple pieces of carnival glass that I have from my mom. Fabulous and your vignette is gorgeous. I still love those sweet flowers too. Thanks so much for joining the party. Hugs, Marty

  11. Oh, Diann, such a sweet little teacup and how sad it got broken. However, your little princess's flowers made it all happy again! I have a few teacups that are special to me and they too got broken but I use them in different ways and can still enjoy them.
Thank you for joining me for tea today and thank you for your sweet comment.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  21. Cute flowers from princess. And I am so happy to see that she has such a lovely cloche. Yes, things break and not always by little hands. I recently broke my cloche that had a silver de fleur on top. To badly to be fixed. I almost cried. Wish princess could have been here to make me some flowers. The teacup looks good as new.
    Hugs,
    Jann

  23. Hi Diann,
I loved your post about this lovely but unfortunate tea cup that you mended so well! And you're lucky to have such a sweet princess at home!
I don't know if you care about makers' marks, I do :), so I can tell you that your cup was made by the prestigious German company Rosenthal in about 1910.
Greetings from Portugal and thanks for your visit.

  24. What a sweet little post. So sorry about your broken cup but it warms my heart to know you have a little blessings giver! Oh, I remember the days! :) Her little cloche is just darling.
    Be a sweetie,

  25. Second website I've been on in last couple minutes to mention a cloche. I accidently dropped all the teacups my MIL gave me many years ago and painstakenly glued all the pieces back together so she wouldn't know. Her eyesight was bad so she never knew what I had done. So I empathize with your little teacup and understand exactly how you and the princess felt. Take care.

  26. I hate when I break something valuable but no thing is as important as the people in our lives, and your precious little girl is so thoughtful trying to make you feel better with her little posies!

  27. Oh, so true. Children are so wonderful for wanting to pick up the pieces. I am glad she can enjoy the cup in her room.
    Blessings,
    Susie

  28. Just love what you said. Someone taught that little girl to be kind and sensitive. So sweet of her.
Thanks for making it a happy story instead of a sad one about a broken cup. Smiles here

  29. I hate to lose a pretty treasure but I am glad you were able to use it for the Princess! She was very thoughtful to make some flowers for it! What a great kid!
When my kids were small and something got broken (Princess House) I always made sure they did not get hurt then swept up the pieces! PH has a great replacement policy. As long as the product is still in the catalog they will replace it at half price!
I love that cloche too! So sweet!
