Happy Sunday

Hi everyone!

As with so much of the country, we have had major power outages all week due to storms and insane temperatures. Out of the past 5 days, we have had our power go out 3 of them. Not fun in this heat! So many business are without power as well. Or some are simply closed due to the extreme heat. This is the first time in my life that I have driven up to a business and seen a sign on the door that stated they were closed due to the heat.

However, every restaurant that has power is making a killing! Standing room only!

You can feel tension running high in most people you encounter. The weather is draining everyone, myself included. So, I needed just to relax and find some beauty around me to sooth the stress.

A quick little trip through my flowers saw some beautiful bright Lily blossoms.

These Lily beauties grow wild all around our home.

Everywhere you look along side of the road are huge masses of these.

I wonder why the pretty yellow ones don’t grow wild around here?

You can see how they tower over everything else in the flower bed.

IMG_3252This perennial bed is going to have to be thinned out this Fall!

My perennial flower bed is one of my favorite things because we managed to get all these beautiful flowers for free. And they all just make me smile!

And smaller but, still pretty daylilies are blooming.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all stay cool and safe during the crazy weather!

  5. I love lilies and we do have a lot of them blooming around here too. I thinned a lot of ours out in the springtime and planted them along our fence so now we have even more blooming than ever before. It's some cooler here today. I'm off to babysit for one of my sons and his wife while they go out to a movie and dinner. Hope your Sunday is a great one!

Slightly cooler here ( western PA ) this Sunday but oh what a scorcher yesterday was here

I will say though, that in my immediate area we've had no major power outages and my heart goes out to those that have had them. It is awful. Stay cool as you can !:)
