Happy Summer Tablescape

Hi everyone!
So, how many of you out there snatched up some of the fun bright Dollar Tree dishes that came out this spring? I have to confess I got 4 of the green. yellow and orange as well as the matching bowls and stemware. These are the dishes we are using as our everyday dishes throughout summer. They were just too perfect and fun to pass up!
So, I thought I should use some of these DT buys in a Summer tablescape.

I chose the yellow plates for today’s table.

I used the yellow bamboo placemats (clearanced a couple of years ago at CTS for .29 cents each).

These pretty dessert plates were a clearance find this past Spring at CTS for .59 cents each. They have become part of my regular everyday plates as well. And the ruffled green chargers also clearanced at CTS for .89 cents each.

Since it is so hot and muggy, I thought an ice bucket filled with cold drinks was perfect today! (clearance 3 or 4 years ago at Home Good Stores)

Dollar Tree stems.

I didn’t think I would like using both vivid colors and pastels. But, the salad plates have both and I like the look.

I couldn’t decide between using the pink napkins or the yellow ones. So, I used both!

A couple of pale yellow and brown salt and pepper birds came out to play today.

The dessert/salad plates gave me lots of colors to use.

I thought the pretty pink depression glass dessert dishes would look nice and be fun for our mixed fruit salad.

I used the cute little white mini crocks to hold some of the last of the phlox at each setting.

So, that was my “Happy Summer” table using Dollar Tree items, new but, clearanced things and older finds.

  8. What a lovely table! The salad plates are beautiful. And...I didn't buy DT plates, and wish I had. I don't know why I don't get them when I should because I always look back and say "why". :( Love the stems too! Great table!

I like how the depression glass gave the brighter colors a softness that really made the whole set pop!
