I think I have mentioned that I have really not changed a lot of the décor around the house lately. It has just been so hectic and it seems that home decorating and playing around with pretty things in the house is so far down on my “to-do” list.
I am generally one of those people who change up wall décor, shelves and table tops every month or at least every other month. I am always finding new and fun things to play with around the house. But, to be honest, I have not done a lot of thrifting in the past few months. A little here and there. And what I have been buying is, well….boring stuff! LOL Mainly business related items and clothes. I know…see…boring! But, both are necessities.
When I returned home from our vacation of fun in the sun, I walked into the living room and thought, “Wow, it is really dark in here”. Everything just felt more Winter than Spring and Summer. Up to that point I had just focused on keeping everything clean so I could deal with all the other stuff in life.
I decided I just needed a real quick lightening up in the room. No biggie, I still have tons of other things that take priority these days. But, just something.
So, I chose the coffee table for a quick redo. I don’t go all out on the coffee table because we use it for a million things. It always has to be simple and easily removed when needed.

I had this Route 66 tapestry table runner that I made years ago on the table with a wooden bowl and fruit. Off with everything!

I changed it out for this light aqua blue and white table runner.

Added one of my all time favorite thrifted cake stands.

I grabbed a thrifted cheese dome, a little white bird and two clearance blue and white floral candle rings.

Instant lightening up.

I decided to add an aluminum vintage creamer and sugar next to the cake stand to hold tealights. Silver can instantly cool down a look and that is why I like to use silver/aluminum during the warmer months when decorating.

As you can see, nothing real exciting or very imaginative. Just something simple and light. It looks fresh and clean and it will be easily removable when it needs to be. I can keep it clean with little to no effort. All important things for me right now.
And a big
Happy Father’s Day!

Cute, Cute, Diann - nice use of the cake stand of which I own the same - yard sale find, too. Don't know why - they are so nice for serving tea things with elegance and centerpieces as you've done well here. Nice visiting again with you from Blue Monday - back posting more regularly after a VERY long year.
