My Valentine Teacup and a Tea Party!

Hi everyone!

As most of you know by now, I collect teacups. I have been collecting them since I received my first teacup from my Great Grandmother at age 13.

Troy always keeps his eye out for pretty teacups to buy for me for different occasions. Well, he surprised me with this little beauty on Valentines Day. It was filled and surrounded by chocolate. Can it get any better than that? LOL

IMG_0847There is no markings on it.

IMG_0854And this little beauty is my favorite color, purple! It’s actually a very pinky-purple. I love the pretty floral design and gold accents on them.

IMG_0850Isn’t the saucer so pretty! It’s definitely got some aging on it. I will try soaking it soon.

Yesterday the Princess and I were invited to a girl’s tea party. We had such a fun time enjoying tea, treats and wonderful company! Here are a few pictures.

All the girls were dressed in dresses, skirts, hats and other prettiness.

Now it is time to send a thank you note to our lovely hostess, Miss Kathy for the wonderful time!

  3. You are lucky to have a husband that could choose such a pretty teacup Diann, it's very nice. The tea party you attended looked to be fun but then when is a gathering of ladies (young and old) not?
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that sends thank you notes.

  5. Hello Diann,
Your Troy certainly has a good eye! You have trained him well! LOL. Love the little teacup; cute as a button! I enjoy sending cards myself although I don't write as well as I used to. I'm glad I can type instead!
Hope all is well and thank you for joining me for tea today.

  14. I love your tea cup. My question is.....where do you keep your tea cup collection? I have many inherited tea sets and I don't exactly know how to display them unless in a table scape. I would love to know where you keep them all. Your blog is great. What fun!

  16. Hi Diann, how fun to go to a tea party with your daughter. I love the sweet Valentine teacup and saucer from hubby. The saucer has such a unique shape. Your cut glass candle holder is so pretty also. I picked up a turquoise one at a thrift store a week ago and I love it.

  18. What a delightful tea party it was. Complete with all the trimmings. Your valentine cup is lovely. Take care.

  19. Your hubby did a wonderful job! Remember, do NOT soak in bleach. It gets to the actual porcelain through any chips or crazing, and starts to deteriorate it.

How fun for Princess and you! Camping AND tea parties, better call social services, because you are such a horrrrrrible mother. ;)
