A Few Odd Cleaning tips

Hi everyone!
This is a scheduled post. I am away having a wonderful week with my family!
I thought I would share a couple of cleaning tips that are just a bit odd with you today. Some of you may already do these, so just ignore this post. LOL
  • Clean your coffee grinder with rice. Just put a handful in and run the grinder. Rice will absorb the odors and clean it nicely. Afterward, dump rice and swipe inside clean.
  • Did you move a piece of furniture and now have that lovely dent in your carpet? Use a fork to re-fluff it up.
  • Get scuff marks of of linoleum, your porcelain tub or sink by using VO5 shampoo or white toothpaste.
  • Remove a stain from your tub or sink with a paste of equal parts baking soda and cream of tarter. Add enough lemon juice to make a paste. Rub onto stained spot and let stand for about 30 minutes. Clean off.
  • Baby oil cleans chrome
  • Taco Sauce cleans brass items.
  • After you clean your stainless steel sink, put a little bit of veggie oil on a rag and wipe the sink down with it. Not only does this make your sink pretty and shiny but, it helps repel stains.
  • Back when I worked in a restaurant, to clean our glass coffee carafes, we would put about 1/4 cup of salt in the carafe and some ice cubes and swirl around for awhile. Does the trick to get out the coffee stains.
What are some of your favorite cleaning tips?

  1. When we have scorched something in a pot, I sprinkle a little bit of Automatic Dishwasher soap on the bottom and add boiling water. Let it sit for about 30 minutes and the scorched food lifts off :-)

  2. Great tips...who would have thought to use taco sauce on brass!

  3. Always can use some good tips, thanks! Have fun with the family!

  4. Diane you brought back a memory for me of many years ago. I use to wait tables in a steak house. And we cleaned our coffee pot with ice cubes and salt.
