Thrifty Things Friday Party #23

It was a Williams-Sonoma Thrift day for me!

Hi everyone!

My mom and I did a girls shopping/lunch day a couple days ago. We started by hitting up the two local Border Stores that are going out of business. Since my mom and I are huge readers and we read the same books, we loaded up with some bargains and just split the costs. After that we checked out the new discount store that replaced A J Wright. The store is called C W Price. Same basic type of store as A J Wright (which was owned by the TJMaxx. Marshalls and Home Goods Company). I bought a couple of Christmas presents there (I am about 50% done with my Christmas shopping! Woohoo!) and a couple of tops for me.

After lunch, we headed to Big Lots. Do you check out B. L. discount book section? I generally will find one or two nice large hardcover decorating or cook books there. This time I was so excited to find this gorgeous Williams-Sonoma “Thanksgiving Entertaining” book for $3.00!!

8-11 bargains 021 Isn’t it just a beautiful book and considering that Thanksgiving is less than 3 months away, this book will give me some wonderful ideas for the holiday!

8-11 bargains 022 I have only glanced a little inside the book. I am saving it for when Troy is at the market and the princess is with Grandma and I am all alone! A nice pot of tea, and special little goodie and total quiet is called for to enjoy this kind of book! Do you save these kinds of books for a time when you know you will be alone and can really enjoy it?

8-11 bargains 023 Next stop was Value World with our 50% off total purchase coupon! I found several bargains that will be shared in the future but, these ones I just had to share today.

This is exactly the way I bought it. It was priced at $2.50. So, I paid $1.25 for this 4 plate set. I have not opened it yet so, we are doing that together today!

8-11 bargains 0248-11 bargains 0268-11 bargains 0278-11 bargains 028Love them! I like the oval shape as well. It is different.

Well, as I continued to browse, guess what else I found? Another Williams-Sonoma set of plates! Also brand new and I paid another $1.25 for these 4 plates!

8-11 bargains 029Also love these! The beautiful gold edging and soft browns and yellows are making think of a Fall table! There is a green, blue, orange and red design.

8-11 bargains 030Okay, now I want you to hang onto your chair! Check out the original price for this set of 4 salad plates.

8-11 bargains 031**CHOKE** **GASP** $49.00!

I think I had a very lucky thrifty day finding all these beautiful new Williams-Sonoma treasures! !   Total spent: $5.50!

It is good to be thrifty!

  5. LOL, WS prices! I shop the WS/PB outlet often, and sometimes they have 90 off that price. I laugh when I see people trying to sell them on ebay for the orig price! The Tablescaper just emailed me to ask if I wanted to hit WS/PB tomorrow! This is after she told me she had no more room for anything and wasn't going to shop! :) I have heard that before!
Love your bargains, enjoy your book!
