A Little Autumn Decor

Hi everyone!

It has been rainy and chilly the last couple of days so, I am feeling the Autumn spirit. I hadn’t planned to do any Fall decorating for while yet. Well, to be honest, we had thought we were going to be moving into a new house either September or October. But, we just learned that it’s not going to happen until the first of the year. We are bummed but, we understand the owners reasoning.

With all that said and done, it frees me up to do holiday decorating here. I wasn’t sure we would be here and was kind of hesitant  to haul decorations out.

I decided to start in one little area of the living room. Just a small side table. Fortunately, this little table’s purpose is just to hold the lamp. It is not convenient for sitting down a cup or anything like that. So, it can be completely decorated.

Autumn 2011 002Yup, I like the explosion of leaves! I decided to use this wood lantern. I think the barn red color is a nice Fall shade of red. it was a summer clearance find at the Christmas Tree Shops. The round dark orange candle holder with stars thing was clearanced at TJ Maxx for .75 cents this past summer. Everything else is from the Dollar Tree.

Autumn 2011 004Autumn 2011 017I started with my recently thrifted brown with a leaf pattern suede placemats.  I showed them to you this past week on this post.

Autumn 2011 020I am so all about scattering leaves in the Fall. That is the first thing I think of when I think of Autumn, falling colored leaves. They make me smile!

I like to decorate with basic autumn decor in September. October I will add a little Halloween here and there. And then November, down comes the Halloween and a few little Thanksgiving things are added to the Fall decorations. So, the basic Fall stuff stays up until December 1st.

Autumn 2011 039So, there you have it, my first Autumn decor.
