Thrifty Things Friday Party #22

Hi everyone!

I can’t believe that another week has flown by. And even more amazing is we have only a week left of August! Autumn is definitely my favorite time of the year. However, summer is our “money making” time of the year (herb business)so, I am conflicted about summer ending.

Okay, on to some thrifting!

The princess and I had a girls day out last week. We went to one of our favorite thrift stores to see what they had to offer.

misc 106Yup, what better thing to do on a rainy day? Go thrifting!

I picked up a few things which I will share at a later date.

When I was checking out and paying for my purchases, I heard a very familiar squeal come from the princess. I looked around and I couldn’t see her but, I saw several customers smiling and giggling. And then I hear this loud “Oh mama! Please, please, please  can I get this?! I just LOVE it!!” I still couldn’t see her. She was on the other side of a clothes rack. Before I could answer her, one of the women smiling said, “If you don’t buy it for her, I am!” I just looked at this stranger and wondered what the heck it was that she had! I called the princess to me and this was the thrift find that she fell in love with and just HAD to get!

miss lia 002Yes, a big red felt hat with a bunch of purple feathers on it! The princess just loved it! She was so excited because “Mama the feathers swirl and twirl around!”. She was dancing around the store and twirling around singing a Wiggles song while entertaining everyone.  So, for $1.49, this was the Princess’s thrift find of the week! What's more we had 3 more stops before heading home and she insisted on wearing her new hat into each store!

Let’s check out some of the fun thrifty posts from last week.

Patti and Paula from Ivy and Elephants showed us their beautiful collection of scales and the different ways to decorate and display them.

3_0 Lynn at Flea Market Lady shared with us a beautiful bench she bought and a few other treasures.

Bench 1And Lisa at Happy Girl Collectibles shared several fun thrifty finds with us including this beautiful vintage painted tray.

  11. Your little Princess is soooooo cute! That hat had her name on it, that's for sure!! She is certainly qualified to be the "Queen Mother" at a Red Hat Society meeting.....although when you are under 50 you get to wear lavender and pink! :) xo,
