Keep that Paper your Breakables are Wrapped in

Hi everyone!

Do you shop at stores like the Christmas Tree shops, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Pier Imports or Marshalls? If yes, you know that they wrap your breakables in lots of great craft paper sheets. These sheets of paper really come in handy for a lot of things.

tip of the week 080  Like:

  • Wrapping items to be mailed
  • Wrapping breakables to be stored
  • Folded and placed between dishes or stuffed into glasses/cups
  • Use pieces for piling your scraps on when cooking
  • use under painting projects
  • Use as quick outdoor placemats that can be tossed
  • For wrapping gifts

And those are just a few ideas. You get these papers and do one of two things:

  1. toss them out
  2. shove them into a bag for later use

Instead of shoving them into a bag and then get frustrated because they fall out and there is no convenient place to neatly store the bag, do this.

Take a couple of minutes and flatten and fold them.

tip of the week 081And then just store them in a boot/shoe box. Now they are handy to pull out and use whenever your need them!

tip of the week 082Not to mention, storing boxes is so much easier than bags of stuff.

I hope you are having a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I keep almost all the wrapping paper I get from stuff. Unless it is newspaper of course. Great tip about folding it and storing it in a more organized way!

  2. I use to iron them flat on low and then let my kids stamp them at Christmas time for the family - also if you are in the military or have movers come and pack you you can use those papers as well

  3. I never thought of storing them that way! I so hate tossing them! Now I know what I'll do with the ones I just got at Home Goods this week!

    Thanks!

  4. I love Christmas Tree Shop. They give you SO many sheets of it around every breakable you buy- it's a great way to stock up! Their's is sort of blank newsprint type paper and you can also use as mulch in your veggie garden. Or shred it up and compost it!

  5. Good tips. I'm a big believer in re-using and recycling things and always save any paper I can re-use. I wish we had a Christmas Tree Shop here. I've seen them up north but not down here.
    Have a fun weekend,

  7. I sure do recycle this paper. I use for all the reasons you listed. I'm taking advise from you on how to store it. I'll be folding and storing in a small shoebox after today. Thanks, great tip.........

  8. I always save this paper. When we were packing up to move, it came in real handy. And I do sometimes wrap things that will be mailed.

  9. Now why didn't I think of that? I always keep the paper and yes, storing it in a bag is so cumbersome and space absorbing. Thanks so much!
