Thrifty Things Friday Party #17

Hi everyone!

Oh, it is a hot, hot, hot week! I didn’t go to anything that I didn’t absolutely have to that was held outdoors this week!  It was so hot they actually cancelled the Farmer’s Market. We have been seeing “Excessive Heat Warnings” going across the TV screen. And that is the first time I remember seeing those. So, my thrift finds are from Value World this week. Their 50% off coupon came in the mail and I took it and went thrifting! I got some really fun thrift finds that I will share over the next little while but, today I thought I would show you another big grab bag of stuff that was normally $6.00 but, I used the coupon and got all of this for $3.00. This bag was filled with misc. craft/sewing things.

Let’s see what we have!

TTF17 006Spools of cotton floss.

TTF17 009-tile    Lots of rayon ribbon. I love this ribbon. I have already made a couple of projects with them. One thing I did was braid some napkin rings which I showed you in yesterday’s tablescape post. Here it is:

Dishes for mom 013

TTF17 012Odds and ends unfinished wood things. I have to admit, I don’t do a lot of these little wood projects but, I am already working on a cute project with that package of little windows with window boxes attached to them.

So, that was my fun little grab bag of stuff to add to my craft stash. I got a ton of amazing deals on this shopping trip. I can’t wait to share more! I swear I am the only shopper around here that thrifts for household things. Most of the people in these stores are in the clothing department. I guess that makes me a lucky girl!

  4. Diann, I can't wait to see what you do with those cute little windows. Love the braided napkin rings. I scrolled down to see some posts I've missed, and that square china is gorgeous. I bet your mother was thrilled. laurie

  5. You do find some great goodie bags! Very cute idea to braid the ribbons to make those cute napkin rings, which looked great on your tablescape with the surprise dishes for your mom.

It is too hot to thrift. I never thought I would utter those words, but truthfully, it is. I have been on vacation this week and after taking care of a de-cluttering project I thought I would get some thrifting in. Nope; it's too hot to thrift!

I doubt I will go to any yard sales either, if any people are daring enough to have them this super hot Saturday. Maybe if I go super early....

  6. What are you going to do with those little windows? I can't wait to find out!!! Thanks for hosting the party each week!!!

I made a few jars of THRIFTY jelly. :))

  10. The party is hopping tonight!
Great way to beat the heat. Hopefully by this weekend things will become more seasonal.
Usually I don't care for the value bags thrift stores make up, very little of value and maybe one thing you really want. You seem to find bags with loads of good stuff.
I am curious about what you'll do with windows and boxes.

  11. Amazing, $3 and look at all the great things you got! Proud of you, and you stayed cool! Thanks for hostessing the party, we love always love partying with you.
