How to Make Floral Candle Rings

Hi everyone!

In a recent tablescape, I used these pretty candlesticks with flowers and vines.

Dishes for mom 022I thought I would show you how I put them together.

floral candlestick project 001I never know what flowers I am going to end up using until I start making something. So, I pull several different kinds to work with.

floral candlestick project 002A few weeks ago, at a thrift store, I found two boxes of these cool Mini-Deco holders. I had never seen these before but, for .89 cents a box, I figured they would be fun to play around with.

floral candlestick project 005floral candlestick project 009I pushed down the candles I planned on using into the foam to create the hole needed for them.

floral candlestick project 010I cut apart some faux vines and just started pushing them into the foam.

floral candlestick project 012Then I added the flowers in between the vines.

floral candlestick project 013Once I got the foam the way I wanted it, I just peeled off the sticker on the bottom of the foam and stuck it to the candlestick.

floral candlestick project 014How easy is that!

I know what you are saying, “Well that is all fine and well for you Diann because you have those super cool foam things.  But, I don’t have them. So, what am I supposed to do?”

I’m so glad you asked! (LOL) Here is what you are going to do:

You are going to take a piece of floral foam or Styrofoam and cut it to the size you want.

catsPush your candle all the way through the foam.

floral candlestick project 016Ta da! You have a floral candle ring. I recently found a bunch of Christmas flowers at a yard sale and have made a few candle rings for Christmas. Woohoo, I am so proud of myself for making them early and using my thrift finds right away!

I hope you enjoyed your visit! Have a wonderful day!
