Thrifty Things Friday Party #8

Hi everyone!

**I am so sorry everyone! I had this all ready to be posted but, my hair and makeup appointment ran later and we were running behind getting to the Pre-Party Black Tie event we went to tonight. I can not believe I didn’t get this posted earlier. I am so sorry!

A new charity thrift store opened in our area and of course I just had to go check it out! They haven’t got their pricing to the right point evenly throughout the store yet but, their prices overall were not bad. So, I found a few treasures.

I just love these little terra cotta jars. I wish they would have had more than just these two. I am not sure what I am going to do with them but, I know I will be using them in some way in our herb business.

5-11 Bargains 0225-11 Bargains 023I have been wanting a milk glass pitcher for quite some time. This one was $1.99.

5-11 Bargains 0245-11 Bargains 025 Loved this amber glass stemmed jar. It was a little pricey at $2.99. It’s about 12 “ tall.

5-11 Bargains 0265-11 Bargains 027 This little lidded wicker basket was just too cute to pass up. I plan to line the inside and use it to hold toothpicks and keep in our picnic basket. It was .49 cents.

5-11 Bargains 0285-11 Bargains 029Well, those are a few of the things I picked up at this new thrift store. I will definitely be checking the place out on a regular basis.

Let’s see who is featured this week:

I am posting early because Troy and I have an event to attend to this evening and I will be busy the rest of the day getting ready. I am actually going to have my hair and makeup done at a local day spa. I have never had anyone else do my makeup. This should be interesting. And this is definitely NOT a thrifty thing! LOL I hope to not look like a total dork when I take a gazillion pictures of the event.

  15. Hello Diane; I just wished to let you know that the Terra Cotta Jars are British. They are made in England for people whom are traveling to Africia for Safari.
Some Brits also like using them, as they keep all foods in them completely dry, pest free, and useable. I only know all of this, as I have been to Europe several times, and I have a very Large Salt Jar which I TREASURE, which I purchased in London. I hope that you enjoy your jars, since you now have some history with them!! :-)

  16. I hope your trip to the spa and your grand make over (make up?) was a pampered and enjoyable experience. I am sure there will be many photos being taken of the event, so you will be fine.

A new place to thrift is always exciting. Its interesting seeing how they figure out pricing and even displays.

Your terra cotta pots are unusual. I would keep them as a display item for your booth.
I have a bell that looks exactly like your toothpick basket!

  19. Those terra cotta pots are just adorable. I'd be keeping them on display for my kitchen, that's for sure! I wish we'd see new stores in our area- I rely totally on yard sales, for most of my treasures. But shops are so much more special. Glad you found a new one. :-) Sue
