My Mother’s Day Present

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I had a “veg out” day! That is a real treat to me. Troy kept the Princess outside all day working in the yard. I was able to work on a couple of crafts and watch Trash TV while doing so. LOL

I’ll show you what I was working on later this week. Today I wanted to show you my lovely Mother’s Day gift. It is this beautiful teacup and saucer. It has no markings on it so, I have no clue who made it.

Mother's Day Teacup 002Troy knew that yellow is a hard color for me to find (non-floral patterns) so, he was so happy to find this one for me.

Mother's Day Teacup 003And I love the heart cutout around the saucer.

Mother's Day Teacup 004There is a little herb/tea shop near us that we both love to go in and look around. The owner blends some of my favorite white tea combinations. So Troy and the Princess picked up several of them to go with my teacup.

Mother's Day Teacup 001Mother's Day Teacup 005Apricot Essence is one of my absolute favorites. The Green Tea Lemon Verbena & Spearmint is a new one to me.

Mother's Day Teacup 006White Tea Melon  and Rose Hip Hibiscus are two of my other favs. This will be my first time trying Jasmine Pearl. I can’t wait to try it!

Mother's Day Teacup 007I didn’t do a tea party this week. I just thought I would show you my little round table in the living room with my new teacup.

Mother's Day Teacup 008Some of you may remember that I found this beautiful large circular doily a couple of months ago. It is just so pretty! It was one of my most expensive doilies…I paid $3.00 for it!

Mother's Day Teacup 009 I had bought this buttercup yellow cake stand a couple of weeks before Easter. I paid $1.25 for it! I cannot even make cake stands that cheap!

Mother's Day Teacup 010I really should have cropped these pictures so my tabletop ironing board was not showing in the background of a lot of these photos. But, no I let you see the real life going on around me. LOL

Mother's Day Teacup 011Mother's Day Teacup 012   And I bought myself a couple of Mother’s Day goodies! I’ll show you the others later on. But, tonight when I have one of my wonderful new teas in my lovely new teacup, I am going to savor going through this new book I just bought at Home Goods Store today!

Mother's Day Teacup 013I really like Jane Seymour. She seems to have maintained her femininity and lady-like personality while working in an industry that seems to flaunt rude, ugly and unfeminine.

Mother's Day Teacup 014Mother's Day Teacup 015The books shows pictures of her home and her children.

Mother's Day Teacup 017Mother's Day Teacup 018Mother's Day Teacup 019Just a lot of pretty and soothing pictures. Along with fun ideas.

Mother's Day Teacup 020I know all Home Goods Store don’t always carry the same merchandise but, if you are interested that is where I bought this book for $5.99. I think that is a pretty good price for a hardcover book like this.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

  1. Hi Diann! My goodness, I leave town for a week and come back to find you've posted 16 posts! You are a prolific blogger - the good thing is, though, you post good content too. I enjoyed seeing your specialty teas and your pretty cup and saucer. The book looks great too. We don't have HG here but we do have Marshall's and TJ Maxx which I understand are part of the same family and also do carry some of the dishes etc. I want to thank you again for the nice items from your giveaway, and I put up a post about it here: http://beyondthegardengate-beth.blogspot.com/2011/05/i-won-dianns-giveaway.html. Thanks, Diann!
    Hugs, Beth

  24. Inspiring! Tea cup in the cake plate - a way to have your cake plate and show off stuff too! I think I'll instruct my maid to put on something appropriate and make a display ;) - but it won't be as pretty as yours.

  27. You were lucky finding these with yellow. You just do not see that many. I love and enjoy ice tea, but would have to pass on the hot. Taste too much like medicine.
