Thrifty Things Friday party #2!

Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and joining the party! I have to confess, I was worried when I started the party last week. I kept thinking “What if nobody shows up and joins me?” Needless to say, I was so thrilled when 58 of you joined me in my first linky party! Thank you so much!

If you haven’t noticed by now, I am so not computer savvy. That is the reason my party button does not have a linky code attached to it so, you can grab that for your sidebar. I just have no idea how to make one. So, I am sorry you have to do it the old fashion way and copy and paste. And unfortunately, you may have to do it again. I wanted to have the whole “I was featured at….” button. I think it is fun to see your blog post featured. We all work hard on our posts and blogs and it is just nice to get a little “thumbs up”. I thought it would be easy to choose 3 posts to feature each week. But, after visiting all of you and seeing some amazing Thrifty Things, I realized that was not going to be so easy. So, I am going to take the easy way out! LOL yup, Mr. will pick out 3 posts a week to feature.

For this week’s Thrifty Things Friday I thought I would share one of my favorite things to find at thrifty prices. Last Saturday was a local thrift stores “50% off everything in the store” Saturday. I actually donated more than I bought! Yeah me! LOL I snatched up a bunch of faux flowers. These flowers at regular retail are so expensive. But, searching 2nd hand sales, you can build up a nice stock of faux flowers without paying a ton of money.

TTF 2 011All of the flowers were 50% off the tagged price. I figured out that I spent $2.75 for all these flowers.

TTF 2 012TTF 2 013TTF 2 015TTF 2 002I have lots of Spring and Easter projects that will use these flowers. So, I was pretty excited to find them!

Now onto the winners of the Springtime giveaway!

  2. Congratulations on a great first week and congratulations to the winners!
I am sure this party will grow each week, especially as spring and summer come around. Thank you for the shout out.
Flowers now are so different from the ones that my mother and aunt used to decorate with.
They used to really look plastic. I remember having to dust them weekly.

  3. Congrats on a great linky. I'm out of town but will try to visit some of the wonderful participants.

  4. Congrats to the winners! Great finds on the flowers!

  5. Hi Sweetie...
Congrats to the winners. Love this share and the idea of the Thrifty Things Friday. What fun. I will participate soon.

I love your faux flower find. What a deal to find so many pretty ones at the same time. I am never that fortunate.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  6. Congrats to the winners! I'm excited to link with you again this week! I kind of wanted to link my bunny post...I used fabric in my stash and a 25 cent pattern from the thrift store! That's one of my thriftiest finds lately! Thanks! ♥

  7. what great flowers...will have to keep myeyes open for those ;)

  8. Great bargain on the flowers - thanks for hosting the party! My usual posts are all about thrifted finds, but I just wrote a post about how I get new things for free - I guess you can't get thriftier than that, so I hope it still meets your criteria! I'm a 'comper' and have decided to do a series sharing my insights into how to win competitions. Enjoy x

  9. Diann,
Congrats on the party!! I love it!!

What great finds!! love the flowers and at such great prices!!

  10. Well done for the first party you hosted.
Sorry I posted two as I had a
computer hic cup or maybe a not computer
    but user (lol).

    Love Carol xx

  11. Hi hun, great find, i love using flowers to make vintage hair slides :o) Sorry ive missed the party today, been out and about celebrating the anniversary so havent blogged my weeks finds - hope im forgiven! Scarlet x

  12. Hi, CONGRATS to last week's winners - how fun! This week, I'm adding my post about my senior mom's frugal gardening methods - from her very cheap and easy portable homemade greenhouses with a plastic bag in her utility garden wagon to her bird deterrent - colorful plastic snakes from the Dollar Store. :) Have a great day!

  13. Thanks for keeping Friday thrift finds going for Linda. I love the flowers....I often pick up a bunch or an entire arrangement. The little purple iris in my finds I got at the thrift store.

  14. I'm late! After I published my post, I forgot to come over and link up! What beautiful flowers, Diann, and usual, and what a deal you got! i can't wait to see what you do with all of those pretties. Thanks for hosting. laurie

  15. You did get some nice buys. I linked earlier then got interrupted. Congratulations to the winners.
Thanks for hosting again this week. Have a great weekend.

  16. Congratulations on a great first week to your blog hop party. Love your flowers, a really good buy ... :0)

    Congratulations to your winners!

  17. I'm so glad you had a good blog party, Diann. I've been out of it recently, but maybe when things settled down I can join you at some point.

I'm dropping by to wish you a Happy Pink Saturday. You really did find some fun pinkness, too!

    Sheila :-)

  18. Well, I have to tell you that I did not link up because I have to say that, much to my Hubby's chagrin, I am not so thrifty....but I found you over on Pink Saturday...I am a new follower and I am Pinkim from TrulySimplyPink

  19. I especially like the vintage looking roses! Thanks for letting me join the party!

  20. That's a good idea, I never think to look for them at yard sales. I guess a quick bath in soapy water and put outside to dry would do the trick.
For that price, there are so many things you could do with and and not worry!

  21. Diann,
I just found your party. If I have thrifty things in my post I will join you on Fridays. This is a great idea for a party. Thanks for hosting!

  22. Thanks for letting me link up! I am all about thrift stores :)

  23. So glad all went well last week. I think picking up faux flowers on clearance is the only way to go. congrats to the winners and I love how you are featuring posts! I hope to join in next week! hugs, Linda

PS Heading back to that Grandson in the morning!
