A Few Glimpses of my week

Hi everyone!

It was a busy week and just filled with different things. So, I thought I would just share a few odds and ends from my week.

Troy and I have our own small cottage business growing and selling herbs. We sell fresh, dried and different products that we have developed. So, keeping up with the local community activities that might benefit us is important. One such thing is being members of a local Herb Association. There are meetings once a month and different activities involved. This week, Troy was the guest speaker for the meeting. We have been doing more and more presentations to different groups lately. It is just a small way to add a little income to our home and meet some awesome people.

Unfortunately, this week I did not have a babysitter so the Princess had to come with us. She generally behaves and usually ends up making lots of new “friends”. This child has more adult friends than Troy and I ! LOL However, she is three and there is just only so much sitting in a dark room with a Power Point Presentation going on that she can handle. Not too mention, it was one of the first pretty warm days we have had. So, it was time for me to take her outside and let her run off some energy. Fortunately where we were at a library surrounded by nature. So, outside we went!

Lia 4-11 019“Pink, is my signature color” yes, a line stole from Julia Roberts character in Steel Magnolias .

Lia 4-11 020“Sweetheart? what are you doing?” “Picking up sticks”…ahhh okay. “What are you going to do with all the sticks?” “Make a campfire Mama!”. Well alrighty then.

Lia 4-11 022Have we trained her to gather campfire wood or what?! LOL

Lia 4-11 026Next month’s Herb Association meeting will be working on the little area by the library that is maintained by the association. It will finally be time to plant some plants YAY! This is what the area looks like now.

After the meeting I was presented with a bouquet of red carnations. What a nice surprise. Don’t you just smile whenever you get fresh flowers! It just made my day.

misc 076Now are you wondering what the heck is that in the bottom right hand corner?

misc 074Why it is a balloon penguin of course! LOL

misc 075As I had mentioned in my Menu post this week, Wednesday was going to be a very busy day for us. And that was the day I had scheduled for us to eat dinner out.Well, the restaurant we went to had a balloon guy doing different balloons for all the kids in the restaurant. When he came to our table, the guy asked the princess what she wanted and she said a puppy dog. So, he made her a purple puppy. As he was getting ready to leave, she said, “No, you need to make mama one too!” He looked at me and I just shrugged so, he asked her what he should make for me. She shouted out, “A Penguin!!” The guy kind of groaned but, made me a penguin! See, now how many of you out there got a penguin this week?

We had to go downtown Detroit this week. As you drive to Detroit from our house, this is one of the first things you see as you start to enter the city.

outdoors 4-11 012Of course, while we were downtown, we had to check out a couple new to us thrift stores. We don’t go downtown all the time, so we take advantage of it while we are there. We didn’t get a lot of things but, we had given the Princess .50 cents and told her she could do her own bargain shopping. She did pretty good! She got a bag of stuffed critters.

misc 062And she still had a quarter left over for her next thrifting adventure! LOL

So, that was a few glimpses into my past week. What did you do? I hope whatever you did, you had some fun!

  11. Happy Pink Saturday Diann Sweetie...
What a beautiful share. Your little princess is just gorgeous in her pink Steel Magnolia line jacket. She is off and running and gathering the firewood. Was this a cool day or what? I love it when they imagine things, as it is SO much fun.
Sometimes it takes us back to a memory of our own lives, I love it when that happens.

Your flowers are just beautiful sweetie. How nice to be presented with them, and that little penguin, another gorgeous memory.

I loved the garden you all will be working on. That shoe is just the cutest idea, and to think I have been throwing boots out forever. Well no more my friend, you have given me a way to repurpose even a boot. How fun is that?

Thank you for the beautiful share today. I have so enjoyed myself. Have a glorious weekend. Country hugs and much love, Sherry

  14. Won't my senior mom love the gardening pictures! And I LOVED the boot planter - so unique and creative. And your little one and my grandkids would get a long great - they are excellent wood-gatherers as well. And where they live, they can actually burn them in the fire pit in the backyard - very fun! Thanks for a fun Pink Saturday!
