Red Cardinals

Hi everyone!

At the beginning of December, my mom and I headed north for our annual Girl's Shopping Trip. As part of our routine, my mom and I stop at Cracker Barrel on the way up for lunch and more importantly, shopping in the store.

Every year, my dad always gives me some money to "just have fun with". Yup, I'm 47 years old, and he still does this. I consider myself a very lucky lady! This money is guilt free spending money and isn't that the very best!

When we were looking around the store, I saw this beautiful Red Cardinal dishes. Oh, I was in love with them! And they were 40% off! Woohoo!! So, I got the 4 piece teapot set, 2 mugs, 2 plates, 2 canape plates and a little teacup ornament. And here they are.

Here is the tea set.

And the pretty dishes.

I started with a gold tablecloth, added a weave looking crimson red place mat and matching napkins. I added a stripe of gold ribbon to the place mats.

I used my winter scene stemware.

A couple of gold votives, my crystal candlesticks with red tapers and a small cloche with my Red Cardinal teacup ornament under it complete this simple table.

Random Pictures.

Now add a little candlelight for pretty shimmer and sparkle.

I really do love this set! I don't plan to store it away until the end of Winter. I think it just right to use throughout the snowy months.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today. You might want to go over and check out these fun blog parties!

  5. Oh wow Diann, I LOVE them. I never saw a teapot in our Cracker Barrel. But I did find one dish that said "Let Heaven and Nature Sing". We displayed it on the piano this past Christmas.

  12. How come your pictures always end up looking even better than the table?

Even with an el cheapo camera, you manage to turn out the nicest pics.

If we ever can get you a real camera, you could go pro. I know you could.

  32. Isn't your dad the sweetest? Mine would reach deep into his pockets for change for the ice cream man (Good Humor) when I was a kid. I bet he'd still be like that if he was here. Dads are great!

  37. They have the best stuff at Cracker Barrel. We have one opening in our town, and I can't wait. I love the gift shop more than the lunch.

I love those dishes, especially the sentiment written on them. They make the perfect January table. I just think of cardinals as a January bird for some reason.

Loved it. It's very much the kind of thing I like.
