A Little Thrifty Reds and Whites

Hi everyone!

Well, today is “Window Cling Day” around Casa Chaos.  The Princess thinks that window clings are THE most important holiday decorations you can put up! So, every holiday, we have our windows covered in window clings. Oh, and let’s not forget every mirror in the house as well! When I was at The Christmas Tree Shops the other day, I made sure to pick up a bunch of window clings for Valentines Day. They are only .89 cents there.

Valetines Day 11 005Note to self: For crying out loud Diann! How many times have you put up window clings? You HAVE to wash the windows first!

Valetines Day 11 004

Okay, windows are washed and clings are up. Now for some of my recent thrift finds.

I stopped at a thrift store I don’t get to go to too often because it is a little out of the way. However, the other day I was in the neighborhood for another reason and stopped in to check it out.

I found this pretty shadow box of red roses. The white wood frame around it needs a new coat of paint which I hope to do this week. But, otherwise, I thought it was really pretty and perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Jan Bargains 2011 033Jan Bargains 2011 034I paid $1.91 for this shadow box. I haven’t cleaned it yet. I really should do that before I take pictures! LOL

Jan Bargains 2011 035   Next I found these two pretty shell shaped milk glass dishes. They were .80 cents each.

Jan Bargains 2011 036Jan Bargains 2011 037 Of course, I could not pass up the cute Valentine creamer and sugar!

Jan Bargains 2011 039Especially for the price of .80 cents for the set!

Jan Bargains 2011 040And last but, not least this precious metal tray.

Jan Bargains 2011 041Jan Bargains 2011 042Jan Bargains 2011 043   It, too, was only .80 cents. It was made in 1985 and is called “Love is Blind”.

Jan Bargains 2011 044 So, that was some of my recent thrifting finds. I am so glad I stopped at this store. I am cutting way back on spending money so,  I am going thrifting less often. But, a girl does have to get her fix now and again!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day! Please join me and visit Rednesday and White Wednesday

  9. Great finds! I used to do a lot of window clings but for some reason I quit doing it. Maybe it was because my boy won't leave them there ;)

  11. Oh my, I LOVED window clings as a child. You're a good mom to put up with that! (I know mine was.) I love that tray--I had that same picture framed in my room as a child. Which I guess makes sense, since I was born in 1983! And I love the little sugar and creamer. Great finds!
