Well, last weekend the Princess turned 3! We had just a little family get together. We had been asking the princess what kind of cake she wanted and she kept telling us strawberry and she wanted it to look like a petting zoo. Well, alrighty then! We were all set to make her petting zoo cake. We went to the grocery store to get supplies. While we were walking around, the princess spotted these princess cupcakes. All of a sudden THAT is what she wanted. No strawbery cake, no petting zoo cake. "Puhhhhleeeeze, can I have princess cupcakes?"
Lucky for us, we found 2 dozen of these cupcakes marked down for quick sale. They were cheaper than making her the cake. So, cupcakes is was!

We had our little birthday party at my brother's house. It was just family but, that doesn't mean no food. LOL I don't think my family can have any kind of get together without food!
I made a pasta salad. I used these fun shaped and colored pasta shells. My mom had gotten them for me awhile back and I kept "saving" them for a special occasion. And finally realized every day is a special occasion, especially a 3 year olds birthday!

Chips with some dip is always somewhere among our get together food. I got this package of Chile Con Queso dip mix as a gift at Christmas. Served with tortilla chips. ( nice and spicy!)

My mom made spinach and parmesean cheese pinwheels and a large salad.

You will notice that I used all my finest cheapo plastic dishes. Hey, it was snowy and icy out which means as little breakables to transport as possible! LOL I also made a large crockpot full of sloppy joes.

We all had lots of fun and the princess, as usual, made out like a bandit! Uncle "Honey" (my brother) bought her a new Pink Princess bike with training wheels. She loves it!

Please join me at these fun parties!
