Some Boudoir Pretties

Oooh, doesn’t that sound titillating!  LOL You guys know by now that I love pretty little china pieces or just little girly things. My home is not girly. But, I try to have a little spot of girliness in my bedroom.

I wish I could say that I have this big beautiful bedroom where everything matched and all was perfect. But, I can’t. I have a small bedroom which became smaller when it also had to be used as a small office. We live in a small 2 bedroom townhouse. There was no where else to set up an office once the princess took over the 2nd bedroom.

But, I still try to have a little pretty here and there. My dresser is where I keep girly. And I thought you may want to see that I really do use the little different thrifted pieces I pick up here and there. Most of the things I am going to show you, most of you have already seen. But, I have a new vintage piece to share. About 90% of the things on my dresser are old vintage pieces I have thrifted.

Dresser 11-10 001I have wanted a pretty little lamp on my dresser for a long time. When I found this sweet milk glass  lamp at a flea market a month or so ago for $1.00, I snatched it up! It did not have a globe to it. I really wanted a milk glass globe but couldn’t find any at local stores. then one day I found one at a thrift store for $1.25. I was so excited! So, my little milk glass vintage lamp cost a total of $2.25!

Dresser 11-10 002Dresser 11-10 003This next milk glass candy dish was a find at a yard sale. It is a Westmoreland piece. I loved it so much that I paid $3.00 for it. If you know me, that is pretty high for me! LOL

I bought this with the intention of using it for dusting powder. I thought it was just perfect for that. But, it ended up holding lipsticks! LOL I have no idea why I always seem to have a lot of different lipsticks, but this turned into a good place to store them.

Dresser 11-10 028This vintage jar was a find a year or so ago at an antique mall. I just thought it was so different.

Dresser 11-10 010  And it a perfect place to hide those needed items that are not pretty at all. I have pens, matches,  glasses fixing kit and other odds and ends in it.

I love my pretty vintage linens and use them. Also odd little pieces of china. And candles are a biggie with me.

Dresser 11-10 009

My little yellow birds are a few of the non-vintage items I have on my dresser.

Well, those were my vintage treasures. I hope you enjoyed peeking into my bedroom. LOL

  12. The yellow birds fit right in with the theme.
I am also one whose objects d'art must do double duty and hide other things.

Have a great day my dear friend!
