Flea Market Red and White

Hi everyone!

I have a red and a white item to share today from my recent flea market adventure. I hope you will join me in two great parties:

White Wednesday

Rednesday

Like I said, these two items came from my recent flea marketing adventure. You can see more of my found treasures HERE.

I just fell in love with this cute condiment caddy from Italy. It was still in the original box. Not sure how old it is. The tray part is metal.

And this set is really not a set even though I purchased it as a set. (Lot's of "sets" in that small sentence!). Anyway, the reason I say that is because both pieces are made differently. They both feel different and look different. However, I like the way they go together so, I bought it!

This piece is an old Edwin Knowles dish. I got it home and soak it for quite a long time hoping some of the dirt would come out of the crazing. And this is the best I could get it. That disappointed me. Do any of you have any kind of restoring ideas out there that might help loosen up the dirt?

Don't forget my giveaway for a $60.00 CSN Stores!! This ends Wednesday night!Head over here to enter!

  1. Diann I love the red and white condiment set!! And that platter is to die for. I love the rooster, it looks like it belongs to the nest.
I don't know how to get dirt out of crackling. I have a platter that I can't get cleaned either.

  2. Diann I love the red & white condiment set also. How cute!!! Of course I love the hen and her 'nest' looks great but not a 'set' but a nice put together. I just read that someone used Peroxide to clean dirt from crazing. If you try it let me know if it works. I have a couple of pieces that I would like to try it on!
    Love your Red & White!!

  5. Try soaking the platter in Hydrogen Peroxide and water. I can't remember the exact proportion of water to HP but you will be able to tell. It works on ironstone, should work on pottery. Absolutely, love the cruet set, it's red....what's not to love! Right!

  15. That condiment set is so great, but that hen on a nest is the prettiest I've ever seen! I Googled how to clean crazing, and there are a few different ways, so I guess you can pick the one you want to try. Good luck!
    Happy REDnesday!
