A Blue Tea

Happy Tea Day everyone!

That is how I have started thinking of Tuesdays, as Tea Day. The last couple of tea parties I have prepared for you have been Autumn themed. Well, I was just craving a blue and white tea today! I have admitted to y'all before, I have a major "blue and white" addiction. Blue and white dishes just seem to call to me.

Last month, at a thrift store, I found 2 sets of this beautiful blue and white teacups and saucers. I never buy 2 of one design teacup. But, I decided to adopt both of these sets. And let's face it, nothing compliments blue and white china better than silver. So, I thought I would use some recently thrifted silver pieces with my tea party for you today.

The 2 beautiful teacups and saucers I am using today are Regeney Ironstone by Wood & Sons, Old Staffordshire.

I also have found a few new silver pieces over the last month or so and wanted to share them with you.

I love this 3 tiered clam shell serving piece. I have one in antique white that my mom got me for a birthday present years ago. This is the first one I had seen in silver at a thrifty price.

I also recently got this creamer and sugar enamel and silver set at the swap meet/flea market I went to a couple of weeks ago. The enamel on the creamer has a bit of damage.

I thought this little silver plated clam shell dish (made in England) was just a perfect little piece for sugar cubes or perhaps butter pats.

And my last silver find on this little teascape is this pretty glass and silver pitcher.

This beautiful white vintage table topper is just so delicate!

I hope you enjoy a little snack and tea while you are here!

  5. What a lovely tea, Diann! I love blue and white but alas, I don't have any other than two Blue Willow luncheon plates. I think I was surrounded by blue for so long {three sons and a husband call for a lot of blue!} that I now concentrate on surrounding myself with pink! I love your silver sugar and creamer; how unique and pretty they are! Your desserts look delectable; especially the chocolate tart with berries; yummm!

    Blessings,
    Sandi
