Line Up for Redos!

Hi everyone!

Okay, so I go thrifting and find some cool thing to redo. Those items get in line with all my other redo projects. Then I go thrifting again and find something else that needs a redo. And I seem to have more redo projects than hours in the day to do them. Sound familiar?

I thought I would show you a couple of the little redo projects that I have lined up at the front of the line. My thinking process on this is if I show them here on my blog, I have to hold myself accountable and get them done! Yeah, okay, it just a thought! LOL

Since Fall is approaching, I want to change out all the white I have in the living room that I used for summer decor. It's time to bring warmth and earthy tones back.

I found this painting at SA a few weeks ago and it was one of my $1.00 finds. I actually bought it for the picture which is amazing! But, I really like the feel of the painting. However, the poor frame has been abused and nicked up pretty good. So, I got some stain to re stain the frame.

As you an see, the SA price was $19.99, which is why I snatched it up for $1.00 on white sticker day!

I also got this fun architectural piece at The Christmas Tree Shops. I couldn't pass it up for $1.97! It has chips and parts of the finish is missing. I think if I stain it the same color as the picture frame, the chips won't really show up.

Both of these things will be the focal point of a wall in the living room.

I also bought this wreath. It was $1.00 find. I know it is a Christmas wreath but, I think with the bronzy brown leaves, it could turn into a pretty Autumn wreath if other things were added.

I found this white wire candle holder at a large flea market. It was only .50 cents. I want to kind of change it up but, what I am thinking of doing, I might not be able to. So, this project is a "it might happen or it might not" kind of project.

And then I just found these cute little bird houses. They were brand new with the original tags on them. I am still on the fence as to whether or not to spray paint them in a rich Autumn color and add Fall leaves and whatnot's to them for some fun Fall decor.

So, those are a few of my recent finds that are scheduled for a makeover. What projects do you have lined up?

Well I think the new wall look will be wonderful and I agree stain should make a huge difference. Love the bird cages...hard choice to leave as is or change them to a fall decor. I can't believe it's already Sept 3rd....where is this month going?

  14. What IS it with us all continuing to buy to re-do? LOL It makes for busy nights and weekends, I guess... I think turning the cages into something fun for fall is a great idea. Kind of a mini-cloche idea. Paint and stain cure most all ills, so your frame and wall scroll should turn out just fine. :-) Have a great holiday weekend.

  15. I understand perfectly. I have a shelf full of re-dos in my garage. I'm better at that than I am at just creating something. I really like that architectural piece you found.
I noticed you have cute little bird houses in red, so now I have to go back and reread your stealing post, because I've forgotten why you were doing that. My memory isn't what it used to be.

  18. I have put the project portion on hold for the summer, and am really anxious to get back to it. I also saved some great thrift finds from the summer to pull out and "surprise" myself this winter when I am snowed in. Hoping I love them as much the second time I find them.
Those gold leaf wreathes are perfect for autumn. Add some color with berries and maybe a color leaf here and there... an appropriate bow...
