I stopped at an estate sale the other day. Not much I wanted. But, I checked out the garage and found this bucket of stuff sitting on the floor under a workbench. I just took a quick glance into it and got so excited! I calmed my excitement down enough to ask the seller how much for the bucket of stuff? She said, "Oh, I don't know. There is just a bunch of junk in there. How about $1.00?" "YES!"...er...I mean "yes, that would be fine". LOL
Here is my awesome bucket of stuff!

Here was what was inside it!

Woohoo! Each time I pulled out another pull or knob I was thrilled! Let's take a closer look!

A brand new package of finials. I am going to paint these black and then do a bronze rub on them.

Check out these sage green vintage pulls. They are so heavy! Love them!!

Only one of the awesome Lion Head pulls. There were 6 of the Brass ones.

Lots of various handles.

Packages of brand new black metal handles and matching knobs.

Only one of these large heavy pulls. Can't wait to clean up the glass in the center.

Three of these awesome back plates with matching knobs!

Love these old vintage glass knobs. Someone had painted them white at one time..arghhh! And check out the knobs in the background of the picture. Pretty vintage brass with porcelain painted floral knobs! So sweet!

More odds and ends pulls, handles and knobs.

And a bunch of misc. bolts, screws, nuts, hangers etc.

And one little wood carved bird!
Well, that was my $1.00 bucket of stuff! I just love to find these kind of things! You don't find them very much any more since most people sell them as individual pieces and for a lot more than $1.00. So, I am still just thrilled over this find. It is one of my all time best buys!

Every time I think I see a favorite, you show me something more! Bowing down to the sale QUEEN! Being a Leo and major cat lover, I have to say I am green with envy over the Lionhead pulls. I would have them everywhere in my hous if I could. (Along with paw foot furniture.)
ReplyDeleteI think you are so luck, almost like winning the lottery.
ReplyDeleteDian, how fun! I love the lion head, the sage green pulls, the pull with the glass center, and the glass knobs (that were once painted white).. and more! Very fun! So what will you do with these neat vintage pieces? I can't wait to see! :) Hope you're doing great!
ReplyDeleteOMG! If you had to buy those things any other way you could go broke. When I was pricing hardware for a kitchen upgrade I almost passed out. I found my deal on ebay. Good heavy hardward for $80. Enough to do two kitchens-mine and mother's plus my two bathrooms and a big laundry room. Your stuff is awesome and you'll have a great time every time you find a new way to use this "bucket of junk".
ReplyDeleteAwesome bucket of "junk", Diann. Now, you know, we are going to want to see how you use some of this "junk"!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your bucket of "stuff". Great deal and great finds. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOmygosh, Diane...this is absolutely AWESOME..What fun to pull all that stuff out of the dollar bucket..:))
ReplyDeleteWhen I read a post like this, it reminds me why I thrift and go driving around. I hope to find my own golden bucket. Isn't that the sweetest thing when that happens? That is such a rush, we even read blogs to experience your rush. Lucky lady.
ReplyDeleteGuess I have to go out now, the school year begins for me on Monday. Sometimes, I wonder, who is sadder? The teachers or the students when summer is over. Maybe a tie?
I need to move into your area!!! You hit the Mother Load!!! I would LOVE to have bought that bucket!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great find! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteDonna
