I Got Some Pretty Little Treasures

Hi everyone!

I have a few little treasure to show you. A couple are shabby with a little french feel to them. I don't have a lot of this style in my house but, it's not because I don't like it. I need a REALLY big house with lots of rooms to decorate! LOL Isn't that a fantasy for most of us!

At an estate sale, I spotted this very old dirty frame just leaning up against the side of the house. I loved it immediately and picked it up. The glass wasn't attached so, it was kind of hard carrying it around. I found the seller and and started to as her how much for the frame when she looked at me and said, "You ACTUALLY want that old dirty broken frame?" "Ummm, yes?" She then told me to just take it. So, that is how I got this frame. Here it is in all it dirty worn out glory.

At this same sale, I found these two milk glass plates. Once again the poor seller was just shocked at the things I was looking at. There were a lot of new items like boxed dish sets, fridge, chairs etc. Nope, I am grubbing through the "old and dirty" items that no one seems to want! LOL

As you can see, the old gold paint has been worn off in a lot of the areas of these plates. I have never seen milk glass plates like this before. They have a very ornate cherub head and scroll work around them. To me they had a very frenchy shabby look to them.

And I got three beautiful platters. Two of which are the same pattern just different sizes. Here is a pretty green design platter.

I thought these two were just so sweet. I really like the silver details and the pink and yellow flowers.

And last but, not least this set of 3 pretty gold wheat dessert plates. I see a lot of the wheat design but, this is the first time I have seen these. They were made in Germany.

So, those were my pretty finds for today. I just have so much fun rooting around piles of unwanted items. These were all very dirty, almost to the point that I couldn't see the designs of them. That kind of makes me sad. So many pretty things totally discarded. Oh well, I guess that's why there are people like me, to rescue them! LOL Unfortunately, I can't keep everything I find. LOL I clean them up and will use them a few times and then I am going to have to find new homes for them. So, these will probably end up in my Etsy store in a few of weeks. Well, all but the frame.
