While out and about thrifting I came across this decorating book.
“1,001 Decorating Ideas – Homemakers Handbook”
It was published in 1969. It has some great basic information. The styles or fabrics may not be current, but the “How to’s” are great! it covers just about everything. Even how to position groupings of pictures.
I love to find these resource types of books. Not only are they just fun to browse through, but the can come in handy! It was half off the price of $1.99 so, I got it for $1.00
I also bought this vintage wood lazy susan for $1.00.
It needs some TLC but, I really love the floral and cattail design on it.
Those are my fun vintage items for this week. I hope you will head over and see what other folks have found and are showing.

Don't forget, my $70 CSN Gift Card Giveaway ends in two days! Friday to be exact. So, if you haven't entered yet, head over HERE and do so!

Head over and check them out for this week’s Vintage Thingie Thursday!

ReplyDeleteI like your fun items. The picture hanging page looks useful even if the rest of the book isn't.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. Those old books and magazines are so fun.
ReplyDeleteI love old decorating books too and snap them up wherever I find them cheap. I also like decorative painting on wood. Will you be painting the lazy susan?
ReplyDeleteI love looking thru those old decorating books. They are great for those that are going back to decorating their homes in the retro style. You found a great lazy susan and am sure you will bring it back to it's former glory. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat decorating book! I could just about tell the date from the cover photo! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a vintage side table with the same patterned inlay. Love to see familiar things when others find them. Mine was from a garage sale of an antiques dealer.
ReplyDeleteThose cattails are fantastic on the lazy susan. Wonder why no one makes them now. They were so handy on the kitchen table.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very fun book! And I do love lazy susans :-)

I have been looking at all my outings for a lazy susan similar to yours....they are not that easy to find. I did find one not too long ago, but it was in such bad shape, I left it on the shelf. Your book is nice....I am always looking thru these when I see them, they hold great interest. Have a great VTT!
ReplyDeleteI am always on the look out for old how to do magazines at lawnsales and stuff. Sometimes the hints are pretty funny but for the most part good tips. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe frame placement chart is so interesting and still up to date!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :)
I love that Lazy Susan! It's sorta folksy...the kind of stuff I like!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy VTT!
