Dual Post: Vintage Books and Whimsical Yard Decor

Hi everyone!

I am have two post in this post.

First I want to thank Suzanne for hosting Vintage Thingie Thursday! Stop by and see all the fun vintage things everyone is showing today!

This past weekend I stopped at a used clothes store.

I visited this store every time I went up to our trailer last year because I have gotten some AWESOME deals here. Besides clothes, the store owner has a few odds and ends like books and linens.

After some looking around I found the princess 4 pairs of shorts and 3 t-shirts and me 3 tops, 1 pair of shorts, a scarf and some table linens. I also found some books.

I saw this set (missing book 2 & 3) and knew I wanted them. I remember reading these in Sunday school. The Princess is still a little too young for it, but not for long. They were published in 1963.

Wonderful illustrations.

My other vintage book find was this 1965 edition of "Emily Post's Etiquette: The Blue Book of Social Usage". I love this book! It covers everything. Well, okay not everything like email, blogging and all that, but almost everything!

Okay, now on to the fun yard art.

Thank you to our hostess, Mary for giving us the chance to participate in her weekly party, "Yard Art on Thursdays"! Go check it out and see all the pretty things people have in their yards!

This is definitely nothing exciting but, it adds color and more importantly, it is the Princess' contribution to decorating our yard.

While out shopping the day we stopped at the above used clothing store,we also stopped at Family Dollar. they had a sidewalk sale going on and a bunch of outdoor items were marked 50% off. I picked up a couple of things and then I told the little munchkin she could pick out 2 things. Well, she had to have 3 because she needed one in each color! And since they were .50 cents each, I figured what the heck.

So, this is her yard art....

Now don't forget, I have a fun giveaway going on this week! Win 50 Custom Greeting cards!

  12. That's pretty cool that you let your daughter buy stuff to decorate your yard -- so good for kids to be part of the household! And she picked out darling things -- the collection makes a great display.
