My house is a disaster zone. The sink is filled with dishes to be washed. Piles of laundry need to be done. The floors need to be swept, washed/vacuumed. And the whole house needs a good dusting. The patio needs to be weeded (as you will see in the below picture!).
But, right now my home is perfect! I get to look at a sweet smile when I pull out these little flip flops....

And to be able to sit outside our home and and see this site is a true blessing.

So, folks, I didn't do anything fancy for you. Nothing set up and all prettified. I am just thankful to have this moment. A simple vintage pitcher of iced lemonade and some fresh melon and watching my favorite thing in the world enjoy her time playing outside.

See, I wasn't kidding about no fancy going on here tonight!

Just enjoying the last rays of sun before it sets. And happy just to be!

ReplyDeleteThese are the moments that count. The dusting, cleaning et. al. will/can wait.
These little ones grow up much too fast. We have to grab the moments.

Diann, I hear you sister. I've been on the verge of tears most of today so being distracted with Woo Hoo! Wednesday is a blessing. Sometimes life is...well...just not as wonderful as it could be.
ReplyDeleteThis post is a blessing to me because it is a gentle nudge and reminder that it's really the simple things in our lives that give us so much joy. Thank you, thank you thank you for linking to Woo Hoo! Wednesday.
Those flip flops are too cute!
ReplyDeleteYour post is a great reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things in life.

Diann, please know that I do understand all the "to-do's" when you have a family, little ones, responsibilites outside the home, etc. You are right on though in making it simple and enjoying your precious little one. You are making memories that will be treasured for a lifetime...and who will remember if the laundry was done or the grass clipped? :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy while you can!
