We are Home!

Our little mini vacation of opening up the trailer for the Summer is over and we are home. It is always a relief to see that our trailer is still standing and in one piece. LOL

Per usual, we seem to have another thing to fix. Last year, our water heater died, this year our furnace decided to just kick out cold air. It's always something.

The first two nights we were camping, it poured rain and it was cold. The first night, the furnace worked just fine. The second night, not so much. We figured it was probably just spider nests so, Troy took it part and that was not the case. We think we need to get a new control panel for it. So, we headed to the closest Walmart and got a space heater. That worked just fine.

We had fun at the Maple Syrup Festival. Besides all the fun antique tractors, cars, trains, there were lots of craft booths. I was so surprised that nothing caught my eye. To be honest, it felt like there was nothing new out there. No new hot craft item this year. But, it was still fun to look around.

We watched the parade and the princess had a blast with all the people giving out candy. Since she was the youngest kid around, all the folks would come up to her and hand her candy. She really likes this concept!

After the parade we went and had the all-u-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast. Let me tell you, if you have never had fresh "real" maple syrup, you don't know what you are missing!

We all had a really fun getaway.

One very frustrating part was the fact that we could not get connected to the internet. We have WiFi in the camp ground but, something was not working right for us and we could not get a connection. Troy and the two guys that run the camp ground are baffled. We were connected to their network but, just couldn't connect to the internet.

So, we spent 5 days with no internet. That is the longest time I have gone without getting online in about 6 years! Troy took the laptop into town to a internet cafe type place and did a few things but, I totally roughed it! LOL

About an hour after we got home last night, we got a call and were asked if we could use a case of tomatoes. Okay. So, we have a case of beautiful vine ripened tomatoes that need to be canned ASAP. So much for just being lazy today. Canning wasn't on my agenda but, when someone gives you a case of tomatoes, you change your plans. LOL

I hope you all have had a wonderful last few days!

  1. Sounds like a nice get away - except for the rain! I wondered if that would happen - it was in the weather predictions!!!
