Some White Thrift Finds

Today is Nifty Thrifty Tuesday over at "Coastal Charm". When you get a minute, stop by Linda's place and see what thrifty things folks have found!

Tomorrow, join me for White Wednesday at "Faded Charm" and see all the white beauties everyone is sharing!

I told you I discovered some, new to me, Goodwill and Salvation Army stores while we were out of town a couple of weekends ago. At one of the Goodwill stores, which I have to say, had really good prices! I know, a shock huh? I got these items. Each one was .99 cents! Not bad!

I just love covered dishes or tureens, don't you? I spotted this smll soup tureen. It has a simple daisy motif to it. I thought it was just perfect for almost any table setting. Of course, with most thrift found tureens, there was no ladle with it. But, that was okay by me.

And I found this bowl and little platter with a harvest design to it. These two pieces still had the Marshall's price sticker on the bottom. When they were $6.99 each. No chips, scratches or damage to either of them.

So, I was pretty happy with my 3 items for $2.98. But, when I got up to the register I discovered they were all 50% off! So, my grand total ended up being $1.48! Woohoo!

  1. I, too, have a fondness for covered soup tureens. It is often a finial on the lid that attracts my attention or an unusual shape. These are terrific finds and what a bargain!

  23. I'm stopping over from The DIY Showoff just to tell you that I have the same exact soup tureen! It was handed down from my husband's grandmother (maybe great-grandmother?) after she passed away. I do have the ladel. And I do agree with you, it's lovely!
