Just Giving You a Taste of MY Reality! LOL

Keeping it way too real, this is just a regular old "sit down for dinner' table. I just snapped one picture to show you our everyday life reality when it comes to setting the table. Now don't get me wrong, I like to set a pretty table a couple of times a week but, generally, this is what we sit down to.

Nothing very "matchy" but, I know that doesn't surprise most of you. The place mats are so used that they have stains and bleach marks on them. The white cloth napkins are white due to so many bleachings. The little princess has her scaled down place setting. Just everyday, like I said.

Probably the most shocking thing is just ONE picture. But, everyone really wanted to eat instead of "stage" the table! LOL

The other night we had a simple dinner. Taco soup, biscuits, fresh veggies and cranberry sauce Ala Diann.

I LOVE cranberries. Doesn't matter what form they are served in. Jellied cranberries, whole canned cranberries, cranberry juice, jams, jellies....you name it, I love it! So, whenever I find cans of cranberries or the cans of the jellied cranberry on sale for a good price, I stock up! I serve cranberry side dishes on a pretty regular basis in this house.

So, I thought I would share a super simple cranberry side dish I make all the time. Yup, this is so simple I will probably be asked to leave Foodie Friday and not return right after Susan asks me to keep my blah tablescape to myself. And then instructs me to look up the term "Tablescape" oppose to "Setting the table" ! LOL

The cranberry side dish...

I know, it looks like it has rice in it. It doesn't LOL.

The recipe.

1 can of cranberry sauce

1 can of mandarin oranges

1 cup of chopped walnuts

1/2 cup of flaked coconut

Mix all together and put in fridge for at least an hour. Lets all the flavors meld together. I love it the next day as a leftover.
