Winter in a Boating Community

I live in a very small community that is right along Lake Erie and the mouth of the Detroit River. Our town sits on a great deal of Marshland and you can't drive a block or two without crossing a canal. So, needless to say, it is a major boating community! People live here just so they can dock their boats. If you can buy a home that touches the Lake, River or Canal, that is all that matters.

The boaters here live for the first day they can get their boats out onto the water! They live and breath that moment. LOL

So, today, "D" is for ...Dock, Docked and Dry Dock.

Here are a few pictures of what I see everyday.

  1. Great collection of D words for the day! Hope your week is going well!

  2. Those pictures are so pretty! What a beautiful place to live near! Wow!

  3. They look like cocoons with the beautiful boats inside waiting for spring to emerge...

  4. How cool! Can't wait to see your summer pics!

  5. Wow, your marshland is a lot more interesting than our marshland ... or is that just a case of 'the grass is always greener'? No room for boats on our dykes, anyway, so not so much activity.

  6. I love the sound of your marshland, I'm sure there is a bird haven there too besides boaters.

  7. These are great pictures! I grew up on Lake Erie and this photos of all the boats really reminds me of home.

  8. Fun to see what boat owners do where you live. Here in Southern California the marinas are full to the brim year round!

  9. Seems like a wonderful place to live and a great place to dock!

  10. Makes me feel COLD! But pretty.

On behalf of the ABC Wednesday team, thank you!
