This brown transferware plate was made by W. T. Copeland & Sons sometime between 1867 - 1890. This plate was actually prior to the whole "Spode" name being included on each piece. I learned a lot about this company and the founders which included the famous name in china dishes, Spode. If you want to read the history behind it, check it out here. As far as I can tell this china design was called Acora.
It has chips (you can see one on the back of the plate). the vendor at the flea market had it priced for $3.00 but, everything in her booth was 50% off. I love the brown transferware and try to pick up a piece here and there when I see them at a good bargain. And I thought this was a good bargain. :)

Pretty plate. I like the brown transferware but don't seem to have any. Guess it's another item to keep my eyes open for. Paired with cream and brown it is quite stunning.
