Thrifty Tablescaping!

Hi everyone! This post is being linked to two awesome blogs for two different parties. When you get a chance, head over to "Between Naps on the Porch" for Tablescaping Thursday. And also check out Tales from Bloggeritaville for Thrifty Thursday!

Today I am going to post about some thrifty little second hand store finds I just got. Now, you all know I love dishes! And to save money but, have a nice variety, I generally only buy place settings for 2. So, I picked up some dishes. LOL

Here is a set of Ironstone retro brown/beige colored dishes. I saw these and thought these are going to be great for mix and matching and a nice look to be used during next Fall. The dinner plates were .95 cents each. The salad plates were .60 cents each and the smallest plates were .40 cents each.

Next up are these 2 cute little creamy white scalloped edge plates. Each were .75 cents.

Then I found these 2 large cobalt blue dinner plates for .95 cents each.

And then these pretty salad size blue and white floral print plates. They were .65 cents.

So, those were my pretty new dish purchases at the thrift store. Now for the tablescape part. Okay, I didn't really do a tablescape. However, as I got my plates out and was taking pictures of them, I played around with different setting using just these thrifty finds. If you have noticed my other tablescapes, I am WAY into "mix-n-match" style.

So, look what I came up with using my new treasures:

So, try out different dishes together when you layer up. You just never know what will look nice together. A little .60 cent dish can go a long way in doing fun tablescapes!

  11. Diann, these are not only great prices they are beautiful pieces. I think your mix of layers is fantistic. I love to pull together plates in a variety of layers. That's the fun of tablescaping. One can find some unexpected delights! I think the brown with the polka dots is my favorite. Of course I like most anything with dots or stripes. LOL
    Thanks for sharing....Sarah
