New Thrifty Treasures I Love !!

I was so exited to find such a great bargain on these beautiful red transferware dishes at the indoor flea market Troy and I went to last week. The woman who was selling, had her entire area 50% off the price marked on the items. Woohoo!! Gotta love that!

I bought 2 of each of the pieces she had for this set.

The marking on the back is "ENGLISH ABBEY". When I got home and researched out a bit about these dishes, I discovered they were made in the USA by Taylor, Smith and Taylor in the early 1900's. From everything I could see, each dish is going for between $12.00-$35.00 each!

An upclose picture. I just think they are so pretty and I have wanted some red transferware for a long time but, could never afford it.

All the sticker prices showing were half off that price! All of he dishes are in perfect condition. I didn't find any chips on any of them.

  8. I had a small platter of that pattern I found at a thrift store 'bout 15 years ago. Key word here is "had." I gave it to my sis a few years back when I moved to a smaller home. With her, giving is everlasting--she doesn't allow take-backs! I've wished a number of times I'd been more particular about my give-aways. :P

  9. These are beautiful!! I LOVE the edges and oh my stars! What a deal you got!!
