Blue and White Tablescape Thrifty Style

Hi everyone! It's Tablescape Thursday over at Susan's blog, "Between Naps on the Porch" and.....

it's also Thrifty Thursday at Leigh's blog, "Tales From Bloggeritaville".

Don't you love blue and white? It always has such a clean fresh look. This is a simple pretty table for two in blue and white.

I was going to put down a white tablecloth but, decided I liked it better without it. The placemats and napkins were gifts from my mom about 6 years ago.

I started with these pretty deep blue and white dinner plates. I got 2 of them last Spring at Salvation Army for $1.00 (for both). I wish they would have had more but, at least I got two of them.

Don't you love the raised fruit motif on them?

Next, this pretty white salad plate. My mom got 2 of these with matching big soup bowls for me for Christmas a couple of years ago. She got them at The Great Indoors clearanced. I know, because I was with her. LOL

Love the raised scrolly design.

Then I added these pretty blue and white flower design bread plates. I got 6 of these for $1.50 at a flea market I went to while we were camping in Northern Michigan this past summer. It also came with 2 small matching bowls.

They are marked on the back as "Royal China B 54 Underglazed Doorn". No idea what most of that means. LOL

Oops, I had forgot the napkin. I placed it under the white plate.

Finished off the setting with everyday silverware, blue glasses from the dollar store, blue transferware cup that I recently picked up 4 of for .25 cents each. I placed them on plain white Johnston Bros. Ironstone saucers I got at an Antique Mall this past summer for $1.00 each.

And don't you just love those little teapot plates to hold your teabags? So cute! I just got those a couple of weeks ago at T J Maxx. They were clearanced for $3.00 for a set of six. They will be cute for butter dishes as well.

To the table, I added the beautiful Teapot, creamer, sugar bowl and platter that Troy got me for Christmas. I so love this set!

And finishing off the tablescape is a raised fruit design milkglass vase with a matching napkin and a set of two silverplated candlesticks. The vase was a thrift store find years ago and the candlesticks were recently purchased at the flea market for $2.00 for the pair.

The thrifty blue and white tablescape. :)

And now you want to know what we had for dinner right? I will post that tomorrow for "Foodie Friday"!

  4. Diann I love blue and white and this is a wonderful setting. The layers of plates is perfect! I love the way you added cups on white saucers, I like that not having matching saucers did not stop you from using them. The tea set is so pretty and a very sweet gift from your hubby! Don't you love thrifting and being able to pull this together for very little dollars!
