Thrifty Thursday

Join me and other folks showing off their thrifty finds this week at Leigh's blog, "Tales from Bloggeritaville" for this week's edition of Thrifty Thursday.

I am beginning to think that I am a major oddball because when I go to the antique mall, I only buy items that are a few dollars. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a lot of the beautiful antique dishes and different serving items I see! I just can't afford them. LOL. But, it doesn't stop me from spending hours just admiring them.

I picked up a couple of little things recently at the antique mall.

I picked up this pretty antique amber creamer for $2.00. I love the design on it.

The creamer is actually a pretty good size. It could be used for gravy or a sauce as well as a creamer.

I also picked up these 3 vintage amber colored footed glasses. I seem to be on an "amber color" kick these days. Do you do that? Find yourself looking at a certain type or color items and don't even realize it?

I thought these were fun and unique. And because there is only 3 of them, the seller had them marked at $1.50 for the set. Like I have said before, sets of 3 do not sell as well as sets of 4 so, the vendors will mark them way down in hopes of moving them. Since there is only Troy and I (little princess is too young), 3 works just fine for us. And I always figure, the extra one is good for a spare in case one breaks or I will use it as a small vase or candle holder on the table.

I was happy to find this set of 8 cocktail (seafood) forks. I didn't have any and there has been a few times I wish I did have them. The set of 8 was $1.00.

They have a fun bamboo design to them. They are just good 'ol stainless steel. I would love to have a set of silver ones, but my wallet isn't allowing that at this time. LOL

What fun thrifty things did you find recently?

  4. Hi Diann!
Great finds! The amber glasses actually look like authentic Fostoria, which is collectable should you ever decide to sell, you may make your money and then some. Good eye!
