Vintage Thingie Thursday

Hi everyone! It's Vintage Thingie Thursday!! This fun weekly party is hosted by the lovely Suzanne at Coloradolady. So, make sure you stop by her blog and check out her post for today along with other "Blasts from the pasts"!

I am constantly looking for the Little Golden Books for our little princess' library. And I just love when I can find the vintage editions! A few months ago we went to a local mall to do a couple of Mystery Shops and we noticed that they were having a huge book sale going on in the middle of the mall (Charity Event)! Woohoo! We LOVE used book sales!!

I consider myself incrediable lucky that the Hubs is a big reader too! So, seeing these kinds of sales, we both RUN to check it out! LOL

They handed us a plastic grocery bag and said that a book was a $1.00 (not a very good bargain!) OR as many books as you can shove in the bag for $5.00. Okay, that is a lot better! Well, we managed to shove 43 paper back books in one bag! Woohoo!!!!!

But, I also found this Little Golden Book "Hansel and Gretel" and paid 50 cents for it.

The book is in near perfect condition so, I was very happy with my 50 cent find!

  4. 43 books in one bag! I would say that that definitely beat $1.00 per book. Love your Golden Book....brings back memories.

  6. Just look at those sweet illustrations in that book! I've been trying to find all of the Little Golden books from my childhood. I'm happy when I can find them at garage sales or thrift stores, because they are too expensive at antique stores. I love old books!
    Happy vTT!

  10. I had that book when I was little. Always wanted to have one of those cupboard beds because of it. Still do! Wasn't the illustrator Eleanore Wilkins? Or something like that? Those little Golden Books are the reason I love cottages!
