Pink Saturday

Hi everyone! It's Pink Saturday at Beverly's "How Sweet the Sound"

The pinks I am showing today are special to me. I stopped at this little used furniture/Home Decor store one day this past week. The whole place was filled with odds and ends. As I walked around the back of the store I found a little dish nook. Of course, as everyone should know by now, I am a dish-a-holic! As I was going through the dishes, I found these 3 dishes.....

Okay, I know what you are thinking, "Ummmm, okay Diann. That's nice, Three old floral pattern dishes. Not even collectable dishes. No sought after manufacturer's stamp on the back. Just old dishes". And you would be completely correct in that comment. However, you see, I already have one of these plates at home. The one I have at home is the last surviving plate from my grandparents set that they used all my life. I NEVER expected to ever find any of these dishes. These were "everyday" dishes. Not the fancy schmancy stuff for company. So, I was thrilled! Here are some upclose pictures of the details.

I got the 3 plates for $3.00. Not a great bargain, but a great find for me.

And then as I was continuing my browsing I came across these two serving bowls. At first I thought they were the same pattern but, at closer look, they weren't. However, I thought they were close enough to go with the set of plates so I bought them. The two bowls were another $3.00.

Here are few close ups of the details.

Now I know that last picture of the manufacturer is very blurry but, these bowls were made by Homer Laughlin.
The Homer Laughlin china Co. is a very well know company. Does Fiesta ring a bell? You can click HERE to get a good idea of the history of this company.

After searching out this "Virginia Rose" in the Daisy Pattern, this is what I found out:

Homer Laughlin China, Virginia Rose, Daisies, VR266

Replacement Virginia
Rose China in the Daisies pattern VR266 made by Homer Laughlin China.Daisies

VR266Status: Discontinued: 1935 - 1937

Known dates for Daisies pattern are 1935 -
1937.

Daisies is considered to be a rare Virginia Rose
treatment

So, I am very happy with my little finds!

Happy Pink Saturday everyone!

Love Homer Laughlin - I used to have a Fiesta collection.
