"Three or More Tuesdays"

Hi Everyone! It's "Three Or more Tuesday" at The Gypsy's Corner with our lovely hostess Tam. When you finish here, head over to Tams blog and see what other treasures people are posting.

As I have mentioned numerous times, I collect teacups and saucers. I also collect any thing tea related. This started when I was about 15. My Grandmother gave me one of my Great Grandmother's teacups and saucers. She told me all kinds of stories about her mother and how she had received her china tea set. I truly love all the different teacups. I have no idea of their value, and I don't care. Each one of them is a little work of art to me.

I actually use the teacups from time to time. Not only just for me when I want to have a quiet moment to myself but, I have also hosted Victorian Teas. I like to honor the history of these little treasures by using them not just sitting them on a shelf. The art of tea time is almost non-existent any more. Women in the past treasured their china tea sets and often brought them out. So, I try to continue this. I love when I can tell they were used. I feel like I have a little bit of a lot of different women's history.

These pictures were taken about 5 years ago, right after my husband built the shelves to display all my teacups on. Since that time, I have a lot more. I rotate them out on these shelves. My husband buys me at least one new set every year for Christmas. And I am always on the look out for different ones. So, here are my "Three or more" which is definitely on the "more" side. :)

  1. Beautiful! I love teacups. LOVE them. My aunt had a collection and when my sister and I visited, she would let us have coffee (3/4 milk!) in our choice of cups. It was such a privilege!
What a wonderful collection. What is it about china and dishes that is so addicting???

  2. I am in the middle of redoing our spare bedroom in a shabby chic type way and was thinking I would love to incorporate tea sets. This is fab!

    Thanks for the inspiration!
