I need Motivation!

Normally when I write a "Motivation" post, I generally talk about the problem then tell how I got myself motivated and dealt with it. Well, this is not one of those posts. I just haven't come up with a satisfactory solution to my motivation issue.

Here is the problem. How do you motivate yourself when several major parts of your life are in flux? You have little to no control how these issues will resolve, when they will resolve or even if they will ever resolve?

If you all follow along on this blog regularly then you know that we just FINALLY were able to resolve Troy's Worker's Comp. Case. It was a 4 year battle but, it is over now. So, yay...go us! However, we have a couple of other "life changing" issues that we are dealing with which we have no control over.

After 4 years of "one day at a time" thinking, it has been a very exhausting journey. Sometimes it feels like I just hit the proverbial brick wall. Constantly trying to gather strength, courage and patience is very taxing on the body, mind and spirit.

I love schedules and routines. I never realized how much I loved them until relatively recently. It's amazing what you find out about yourself when you are forced to change. Having some sort of daily routine not only gives me a bit of control of my day to day life, but it makes me feel accomplished.

However, lately, I have been feeling somewhat defeatist in my attitude in certain areas of my life. I make plans, set goals and then WHAMMO, outside forces come in and annihilate those plans. Now, I know that all of us have this happen to us from time to time. I can handle that. But, major life changing things that are hanging in the balance every day, day in and day out, is discouraging.

I will continue to do the very best that I can because that is who I am and how I function. When I think I have come to the end of my reserves, I know that God gives me the strength to keep at it. But, what I want to know, is does anyone have any little helpful tips to keep the level of happiness and pleasure of everyday life. The simple things.

So, how do you deal with your daily life when major events are hanging over your head that could completely alter your life? How do you plan? How do you motivate yourself to continue on the best you can and keep you and your family happy?

I am linking up with 2 wonderful bloggers for their versions of Monday Motivation. hopefully someone out there got the secret decoder ring and can help me out! LOL

So, take a few minutes and check out these 2 blogs and maybe we all can get some motivation!

  1. I feel like I'm in your shoes as well. Lately I feel like I've just been winging life and not following a schedule, and at the end of the day I don't feel like I accomplished anything... even if I did.

I'm working on a schedule that I am going to force myself to follow... no matter how much I don't want to.

When major events are hanging over your head, I believe that the best way to deal with this is to continue on your life and "normal". Until this event significantly changes things, we still need our normalcy, our schedules, our lives. So continue on with what you're doing... if something major happens in your life, then adjust your life accordingly.

Great post! Hope my reply made sense to you LOL... thanks for Linking UP!!
