Make Something Monday

As I mentioned in my MMM post, we just got back from vacation and all the delights of returning home are quite overwhelming. So, for my "Make Something Monday", I am doing things a little different. I am making myself slow down. It isn't all going to happen in one day.

I am making myself enjoy the fact that I am back home. This is a place of comfort, a sanctuary.

I am making myself relax. I can do some of the chores that face me, but I don't have to do them all in one day. I need to enjoy the fact that I am home and enjoy the memories we just made as a family during our vacation.

We didn't go on a "flashy" vacation. This wasn't an amusement park, tourist attraction kind of vacation. We went camping. We took our trailer trailer and headed back into the forest to my parent's cabin. We were in the middle of complete beauty and tranquility. My parents, brothers and nephews were all there for various lengths of time. We got to enjoy each others company. Sit around a campfire at night and make each other laugh or sing completely out of tune (which of course made us laugh more).

During this time, I was able to go to a completely "stress-free" zone for the first time in ages. I didn't worry about anything, feel pressured by anything or any other negative factors. My biggest concern and decision was whether I wanted my nephew to make me a S'more with the standard Hershey bar or a Reese Peanut Butter Cup.

As we got closer to home, I felt the old stresses of everyday life creep back into me.

So, what I really want to make this Monday, is make myself retain some of the carefree feel of the past couple of weeks.
