Menu for the Week

This is something I used to do but, have really slacked off on lately. I wanted to get back to it because if I don't have a menu in mind for the week we either eat junk or go out and let's face it, going out is really not an option all the time!

So, I thought I would try to get a post out each week to let you know what my menu for the week looks like. This will help me be accountable to actually make one each week! LOL I am not necessarily going in any order of the week, just listed the meals to choose from. And as you will notice, one day is reserved for dinner out! Of course, the "where" will be determined by what good coupons I have! Or Mystery shops we can snag (it's so much nicer to have a free meal AND get paid for it to boot!).

I took stock of what I already have in the house to make this menu up. The only thing that I think I need to get is fresh veggies. Other than that, I really try to make my dinner menus with items I already have on hand.

Planning meals ahead of time is a great way to keep a handle on money being spent for food. It let's you use up leftovers, things that are getting ready to go bad or things that get buried in the freezer or in the back of the fridge. I have noticed in the past that I have a lot less waste if I plan ahead for dinners. And I am not running out at the last minute to pick up something "quick" to make.

If you want to leave a comment with what your menu plans for the week are, please feel free. I know that I like to get different ideas for meals, because I get bored with my "standards".

Menus:

1.) Asian chicken with rice , carrot salad and jello

2.) Mini meat loaves, baked potatoes, fresh veggies and applesauce

3.) Tin foil grilled fish, pasta salad, grilled veggies skewers, and fruit parfaits

4.) Chicken alfredo & pasta, corn and jello & fruit salad

5.) Homemade soup, homemade bread sticks and pumpkin bread
